Join this live symposium where our experts will discuss how biologic therapies may help address key unmet needs in lupus, and how clinicians can identify the most appropriate patients for biologic treatment.
This symposium, chaired by Dr. Anca Askanase, will include a round-table discussion featuring an expert panel across rheumatology and nephrology, several patient case studies, and audience participation.
We will explore which patient populations may be ideal candidates for biologic therapy to improve disease outcomes based on current treatment guidelines, evidence, as well as expert guidance. Barriers to the use of biologics in clinical practice will also be discussed.
Although current standard therapies may provide symptom relief, biologics have the potential to modify the immunologic mechanisms of the disease.1 By changing the course of the disease, we can help improve disease outcomes, including minimizing disease activity with the fewest treatment-associated toxicities and slowing or preventing organ damage progression.2–4
A pre-recorded overview of the live symposium will be available as a 20-minute virtual Mini-Session led by Dr. Angela Crowley, Dr. W. Winn Chatham, and Dr. Abdallah Geara.
This program is developed and offered by GSK
