Poster Title: Inpatient Rheumatology Consultations at a Tertiary Academic Medical Center: A Retrospective Cohort Study

What is your poster about?
“My poster looks at inpatient consults at my institution over a three-year period. We analyzed patterns in timing, indications, and diagnoses. Our goal is to use the findings to identify data-driven educational targets for hospital providers to improve inpatient rheumatology care.”
Why did you decide to investigate this topic?
“Rheumatology consults are critical for managing complex hospital cases, but there’s surprisingly little data on how and when they happen. As someone interested in medical education, I saw this as an opportunity to fill that gap, better understand the challenges, and ultimately find ways to improve patient care through more targeted teaching and training.”
What are you working on next related to this research?
“The next step is to develop educational workshops and presentations aimed at closing the knowledge and care gaps we identified in this study. We also plan to publish follow-up data to evaluate how effective these educational efforts are in improving inpatient rheumatology care.”
What excites you most about your work?
“Rheumatology is a fascinating and constantly evolving field, and I’m especially excited to share that passion with my colleagues through projects like this. My hope is that these efforts not only improve patient care but also inspire others to pursue a future in rheumatology.”
What are you most looking forward to at ACR Convergence 2025 in Chicago?
“I’m looking forward to the networking opportunities, hearing cutting-edge lectures from some of the leading minds in rheumatology, and learning about new breakthroughs in the field. On a personal note, as someone from the Chicago suburbs, I’m also excited to be back home and enjoy the city’s incredible food scene!”
