Make it three Knowledge Bowl championships in three years for The Hawkeyes from the University of Iowa.
The same team of Sanjeev Patil, MD, Bharat Kumar, MD, and Namrata Singh, MBBS, won for the third year in a row on Monday morning in front of an enthusiastic crowd.
The champions defeated Rheum-Nados from Franciscan Alliance, with team members Keith Reich, DO, FACOI, FACR, RhMSUS, Mark Vercel, DO, and Nisha Dsilva, DO, and Tram-a-dolls from Oregon Health & Science University, with Pascale Schwab, MD, Marcia Friedman, MD, and Julianna Desmarais, MD.
In addition to having team members’ names added — again — to the traveling Knowledge Bowl trophy, this year’s winners will earn complimentary registration and hotel accommodations for the 2017 ACR/ARHP Annual Meeting, which takes place Nov. 3-8 in San Diego, CA, and the chance to defend their title. The team also receives gold medals and tickets to the 2017 President’s Reception.
This year’s other participating teams were Mississippi Mayhem, The Trojan Force, Immuno-Globe Trotters, Fibro Fog, MHC “sans” complex, LSU Hooked – Osteofighters, The Team Who Says NiH, The Hot Joints, The Krzyzewskimabs, No Rheumorse, Know Bones About It, The 1:80 Titer Fighters, Ropes-a-Dopes, Rheum for a Cure, and Team Smallbany.
