ARHP President Elizabeth Schlenk, PhD, RN, will pass the presidential gavel to Afton Hassett, PsyD, during today’s ARHP Topic Round Tables: Networking Forum, 12:30 – 2:30 pm in the Liberty Ballroom Salon I in the Marriott Marquis.
Dr. Schlenk is an associate professor of nursing at the University of Pittsburgh, where she teaches masters and doctoral students and conducts research on adherence to chronic disorder regimens, with a particular emphasis on physical activity regimens.
Before launching the topic round table networking, Dr. Schlenk will highlight 2016 ARHP achievements in membership growth, online and Annual Meeting education, research and practice tools/webinars, Arthritis Care & Research journal, health professional awards, volunteer recruitment and organization collaboration, and recommendations for academic rheumatology.
Upon receiving the presidential gavel, Dr. Hassett will become the 48th ARHP president. Dr. Hassett is a clinical psychologist and associate research scientist in the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Michigan.
During her presidency, Dr. Hassett will lead ARHP’s efforts to improve its Annual Meeting and online educational offerings, website practice and research tools, research webinars, Arthritis Care & Research journal, membership and volunteer recruitment, health professional award offerings, NP/PA rheumatology core curriculum, and domestic/international collaboration.
