PANLAR Scholars

The ACR is proud to promote the PANLAR Scholarship Program in which rheumatologists from Central and South America are provided funding to attend the ACR/ARHP Annual Meeting. The goal of the program is to give rheumatologists from low income countries the opportunity to attend the Annual Meeting, expand their knowledge, and improve patient care in their own countries. The program funding is provided by the ACR, and is supported by the PANLAR network, which distributes the scholarship opportunity to each of its national member associations. Physicians who are interested in the program apply, and are selected by the PANLAR Executive Committee.

This year’s PANLAR scholarship recipients are:

  • Roberto I. Acosta Hernández, MD, El Salvador
  • Gary Choque, MD, Bolivia
  • Ana Cecilia Lozada, MD, Mexico
  • Victor Pimentel, MD, Perú
  • Edral Rodriguez, MD, Rep. Dominicana
  • Felipe Schweitzer, MD, Chile
