Evidence-based solutions to overcoming gaps in health outcomes will require a commitment by clinicians and health systems to measure disparities so the data can be stratified by demographic factors and other social determinants of health, said Jon Burnham, MD, MSCE.

Targeting program directors, division directors, and others who provide education to medical students, residents, or fellows, the Educators Forum is a unique opportunity to focus on how ACR initiatives impact this community, along with discussions on timely educational concepts, designs, and execution strategies, said moderator Beth Marston, MD.

Building off a positive reception to a change in format last year, the Basic and Clinical Research Conference will be a combined one-day session again at ACR Convergence 2022. Presentations from a multidisciplinary roster of speakers will focus on the genetics of somatic mutations, said moderator Peter Grayson, MD, MSc.

This year’s Review Course will feature expert presentations on Sjögren’s syndrome, spondyloarthritis, metabolic bone disease, osteoarthritis, statin myopathy, paraneoplastic syndromes, and autoinflammatory syndromes, said co-moderator Noelle A. Rolle, MBBS, FACR.

An international, multidisciplinary lineup of speakers highlights the pediatric rheumatology programming. “The main goal is to ensure that we disseminate crosscutting, collaborative work that improves the care of children with rheumatic illnesses through the work of multiple specialties,” said Eyal Muscal, MD, MS.

Becki Cleveland, PhD, and five other speakers will help clinicians increase their fluency in the language of statistics during the three Stats Bootcamp sessions. Dr. Cleveland will review how to identify categorical response variables, and how they differ from continuous ones, to understand relevant features of models for categorical response variables.

A trio of radiologists from George Washington University will present a comprehensive approach to imaging interpretation during Radiology Bootcamp 2022. Any provider or physician who reviews radiology reports in the clinic to help with diagnosis can benefit from this session, said moderator Aimee Chen-Wiener, MSN, APRN.

Twenty-one Community Hubs provide interactive virtual meeting spaces for networking and information sharing on specific topics among ACR Convergence attendees with shared research or clinical interests.

Now in its second year, the Global Rheumatology Summit will take place entirely online on November 10, said Laura Lewandowski, MS, MD. The summit examines the essential core issues of rheumatology—from disease types to the role of genetics, environmental health, and access to care in determining patient outcomes—through a global lens.

Speakers will discuss updates on diagnosis and management of rheumatic diseases, as well as the integration of environmental challenges and needs into the practice of rheumatology, including new infectious diseases and diversity, equity, and inclusion, said Zsuzsanna H. McMahan, MD, MHS.
