ACR Convergence 2023 will convene in sunny California this fall. The world’s premier rheumatology experience will be held Nov. 10–15 at the San Diego Convention Center.

Located downtown, the convention center is just a short walk from award-winning restaurants, diverse retail offerings, and world-class entertainment venues. And the San Diego Trolley, the city-owned light rail system, makes connecting to the rest of the city’s attractions a breeze.

Adjacent to the convention center, the Gaslamp Quarter features historic Victorian-era architecture and one-of-a-kind dining, shopping, and entertainment venues. Feed your body and soul at the more than 100 restaurants and more than 80 boutiques, spas and salons, art galleries, and artisan shops.

Seaport Village, the USS Midway Museum, and Petco Park, home of the San Diego Padres, also are accessible by foot from the convention center.

San Diego’s 70 miles of coastline provide myriad opportunities for fun in the sun without going far. Make a splash surfing, paddleboarding, kayaking, sailing, snorkeling, fishing, or watching the waves roll in while you relax on the sand.

Across the bay behind the San Diego Convention Center and accessible by ferry, the community of Coronado is a quaint destination for shopping, a visit to the beach, dinner out, or a trolley tour. La Jolla, with its 300-foot cliffs and picturesque beach, is also a popular recreation destination for visitors.

You can see native California wildlife and exotic species at multiple local venues. The 100-acre San Diego Zoo houses more than 12,000 rare and endangered animals and supports international conservation efforts. The nonprofit Living Coast Discovery Center is home to a collection of native rescued birds, as well as green sea turtles, sharks, stingrays, and more.

Whale watching is another popular way to view the animal kingdom in its natural habitat. Blue whales and gray whales pass by San Diego as they migrate each year.

Whatever your interest, San Diego can deliver. The San Diego Tourism Authority has additional information on the attractions that await in “America’s Finest City.”
