The ACR/ARP Annual Meeting for the first time will offer short sessions on the three busiest days of the meeting that will summarize the key developments from that day’s educational sessions and abstract presentations.

Each Daily Digest is a 30-minute session divided into basic science/translational research and clinical presentations. The sessions will take place from 4:30 – 5:00 pm Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday in the Sidney Marcus Auditorium, Building A, Georgia World Congress Center.

An expert in each area each day will summarize the day’s most important happenings, with highlights coming from the full schedule of oral sessions and poster presentations taking place.

“The sheer number of abstracts—oral presentations plus the posters presentations—can be overwhelming. There also might be sessions of interest happening at competing times,” said Shervin Assassi, MD, University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, and Clinical Abstract Selection Committee co-chair. “These Daily Digest Sessions are an efficient and informative way of summarizing what’s happened that day.”

Dr. Assassi also points out that the Daily Digest sessions could be used as a guide for attendees to find the most relevant sessions to them available on ACR Beyond, the ACR’s online education video platform. ACR/ARP Annual Meeting scientific registration includes access to ACR Beyond LIVE Scientific Sessions and a complimentary 12-month on-demand subscription to the library of more than 500 recorded sessions from the Annual Meeting and other past ACR educational meetings.

During their presentations, each expert will review what was presented during that day’s poster and abstract sessions, summarizing the groundbreaking research that will change and improve rheumatologic care, and help attendees take this new information and apply it to clinical practice, as needed.

“We carefully selected complementary presenters who can provide an entertaining and informative recap of both basic and clinical daily meeting highlights. It is hoped that this session will become a mainstay of the meeting in years to come,” said Jennifer H. Anolik, MD, PhD, University of Rochester Medical Center, and Basic Science Abstract Selection Committee co-chair.
